Fresh type through the door today. A fab selection of typefaces and some really interesting and very old Stephenson Blake foundry type. All will be available to purchase here - Letterpress type for sale
Oh and not forgetting the Adana QFB that arrived at the same time. I will be locking some type up and having a print with it later to make sure all is as it should be. I really like the simplicity of the Adana Flatbed. This one has the removable inking plate but, as most if them do, is missing the roller arms and inking roller. Really this isn't an issue as I have always found it preferable to hand ink with Adan a flatbeds. It's nice to see that the gripper fingers and springs are all present and correct. There is no original chase but I'm pretty sure I have a suitable replacement. You can print up to around 9.5" x 7" and despite being relatively crude design it does exactly what it's supposed to do.
They can often be picked up relatively cheap in comparison to other small presses with a similar print area and for anyone who has and Adana 8 x 5 and is looking to print slightly bigger the Adana QFB should not be overlooked. Once I have tested it I will have it listed on the website soon.
